At Volcani International Partnerships, Ghana holds a special place in our hearts.
After all, it was in Accra in 2019 that our Executive Director, Danielle Abraham, spoke for the first time at the Africa Green Revolution Forum and launched the report we authored with the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change and the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa.
Danielle’s interview on Joy 99.7FM, one of Ghana’s leading radio stations, on Friday 4 June has provided us with a further story to add to our list of fantastic Ghanaian experiences.
Danielle was invited to speak as part of Israel Radio, a joint initiative by Joy 99.7FM and the Israeli Embassy in Ghana designed to offer listeners a closer look at the Start-Up Nation.
Speaking with Nhyira Addo, Danielle discussed the Israeli agricultural miracle: how a young nation with only limited agricultural expertise and endowed with scarce water supplies alongside limited and arid lands, overcame all odds and established itself as an undisputed agricultural superpower.
Broaching a broad range of topics including ideology, government support, the golden triangle, a market driven approach, farmer organisation and the benefits of a flat hierarchy, Nhyira and Danielle discussed many of the drivers underpinning this transformation and shared incredible stories from Israel’s agricultural revolution.
